Reading
Lately I’ve been reading lots of poems—I especially enjoyed “On the Disadvantages of Central Heating” and its concreteness. I’ve also been reading Rosewater, a science fiction novel set in Nigeria. I can’t decide if I like it or not—I like the premise and worldbuilding, but can’t say for certain if I enjoy the writing itself.
I’ve also been reading a lot for school, of course. That’s to be expected as an English major. My favorite this semester has been Swastika Night, which is a deeply necessary read.
Watching
Jack and I have been watching Hello Tomorrow! on Apple TV. I really like the vintage space age aesthetics.
On my own, I’ve been watching through Inuyasha. It’s something I can watch to wind down after the crazy long days. My last chronic illness flareup had me watching three hours straight.
Photography
From the Mississippi Aquarium.
Writing
Other than academic writing (I’m presenting a paper this week—as is the boy—pray for us), I’ve been focusing on poetry for one of my classes as well as for my thesis. Here’s a piece I wrote for my science fiction class:
Anyway, all is well, life is full of things to explore, and I am glad to be able to write.
Until next time.

Simply stunning as always
(The way I opened this new-post-notification so fast!!) Love this collection -- especially the poem and the photography!
